A note to readers: I have an annual (sometimes biannual or quarterly at most) newsletter, which you can subscribe to here—and I try to reply to subscribers whenever possible. Also, many answers to your questions may be found inside my books, essays, blogs, vlogs, speeches, and interviews—many of which you can find online via Google, on YouTube, on Bp Magazine’s bphope, and here on my website, organized by tags, albeit somewhat disorderly so (I’m working on it). You may reach me via the form below or at melody[at]melodymoezzi[dot]com.

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS RIGHT NOW, PLEASE KNOW THAT THERE IS HOPE & HELP—AND YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I’ve compiled the numbers and resources below and am always expanding it, so please let me know if you have anything you’d like to add. For international mental health resources, visit https://findahelpline.com and type in your country.

In the US, consider calling your local mental health mobile crisis unit or 988. If anyone transfers you to police, please ask for officers trained in dealing with mental health emergencies. They are often called “CIT Officers” because they have Crisis Intervention Training. Below are some mental health resources available in the US (and sometimes Canada); all are linked to their websites and many have growing options for chat and text. For a list of digital mental health resources, visit https://socialworklicensemap.com/social-work-resources/mental-health-resources-list/.
